Document Summary

After reading this chapter, the reader should be able to analyze data to determine the rate law and rate law parameters using the graphical and numerical techniques as well as software packages. r. Collection of rate data (homogeneous reaction: reactor. Reaction volume does not change during the experiment. The reaction rate is not affected by reactor type, reactor size or operation mode. Batch reactor is commonly used for collection of rate data of homogeneous reaction. * no concentration gradient in the reactor can be reached easily. Isothermal operation is commonly applied for collection of rate data. Collection of rate data: measured rate data. Reactant concentration and reaction time are commonly measured (concentration-time data) The other data can be used for rate law study. For our unit (che 325/515) the concentration-time data were used to determine the reaction rate equation. * reaction rate is a function of reaction temperature and concentration of the reactants.
