Document Summary
Skeletal muscle tissue has striations has light i bands which are thin mino laments and dark a bands, which are thick mono laments, these are the parts of the cell that form the striation. Cardiac muscle the striations are a lot shorter and have these structures that are called intercalated discs that aren"t present in skeletal muscle, which allows the heart cells to communicate electrically more e ciently. Smooth muscle don"t have striations have a di erent shape the di erent outline of a smooth cell, thats thinner on the end and thicker in the middle where the nucleus is. Cardiac muscle has a branched structure and the intercalated discs are the junctions between the muscle cells that allow it to communicate electrically. Smooth muscles thicker in the middle and then tapers o at each end and forms the walls of the hollow viscera and our blood vessels, forms the movement of the eye.
