Document Summary

Need to know name of vessel, where it starts and where it ends. Arteries - oxygenated blood from heart to structures of upper limb. Subclavian artery - main one going to upper limb. Changes name at lateral boarder of 1st rib - axillary artery. When it gets to teres major - changes to brachial artery. Give off smaller branches in the hand - don"t need to know name. Vena comitatrties - deep veins accompany arteries - blood from limb back to heart. Take deoxygenated blood from superficial structure of upper limb back to the heart. Medial cubital vein connects - basilic and cephalic veins this is where blood tests are from. These two veins then go through fascia to join to axillary vein. Get flow charts from the ppt - in the final exam, we can draw a flow chart instead of drawing the arm.
