Motivation isn"t something constant, we don"t just have it or don"t have it. There are many di erent factors of our lives that can motivate us. He enjoys doing ballet and remembering all the dances. It"s a social place for him, gets to hang with his friends. People around him are supportive of his hobbies. He knows he is capable of it. They are motivated by factors within themselves or inherent in a task they are performing (mcdevitt & omrod, 2014, p. 546) Situational interest gives rise to personal interest. Personal interest turn into ongoing activities that support the interest. Gradually children learn that doing some activities can get closer to their goals. Later on they develop internalised motivation (adapting societal values to guide one"s own actions) Type of motivation all of us would love to have. Children have a natural predisposition to explore their environment. Children strive for consistency in their understandings of the world (through disequilibrium)
