Prologue is the intro that explains events leading up to the play, technically it"s everything before the chorus comes in. Other playwrights don"t do it as much, but euripides does. Women were supposed to stay home and take care of household chores. Lysistrata subverts this handily in her play. They are in a kind of tentative treaty. War of attrition, many small conflicts combined to make the war into a long conflict.
