Background and context

It's worth noting that the evolution of the human genus, Homo, has been intensively investigated in recent years. There is more and more proof that what was formerly thought to be different species are actually variants of the same species. Recent finds in Africa, particularly of Homo neladi, are casting doubt on the origins of our genus' members and their connections.
