Background and context
The genome of a eukaryotic cell has many double-stranded linear DNA. They are found complexed with basic proteins called histone proteins. The number of chromosomes in each species is specific. In humans, there are 23 pairs of chromosomes which mean there are 46 chromosomes in total.
