Metabolism is the term used to refer to the combination of all biochemical reactions taking place within a cell. Metabolism involves 2 processes namely anabolism and catabolism. Anabolism combines simpler molecules to form complex ones using energy while catabolism breaks down complex molecules into simpler ones releasing energy.
