Background and context
The probability method is generally used in predicting the outcomes and ratio when there are three or more than three alleles involved. In such cases, the use of Punnet square becomes difficult. The probability method uses three rules: product rule, the sum rule, and binomial expansion. In this method, instead of writing the whole genotype, the probability is used and the outcomes are predicted.
