Background and context

Diverse living organisms populate the earth. These organisms fall under two broad categories as prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The prokaryotes are primitive organisms, while the eukaryotes are advanced ones. The prokaryotes and eukaryotes are again divided into three domains such as bacteria, archaea, and eukarya. Bacteria and archaea are prokaryotes. Eukarya includes all eukaryotic organisms like animals, plants, fungi, etc. Prokaryotes do not contain any membrane-bound organelles like eukaryotes and exist in different forms.
