Background and context

Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase is also a name for tRNA-ligase. This enzyme is used for attaching appropriate amino acids to its tRNA (transfer RNA). Mainly there are two classes of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase. Each class of enzymes is composed of ten enzymes. The class I type consists of two specific highly conserved sequence motifs, whereas, class II has three highly conserved sequence motifs.
