Background and context

Phylogeny is the history and relationship of the evolution of an organism or group of organisms. Different species of plants or animals come from common ancestors and that is the basis of the phylogeny. The proof of this type of relationship is always incomplete because most of the species can not be survived so long and become exterminated and some of their remains have been preserved in fossil records.
