Background and context

Asexual reproduction is a method of reproduction that does not require the fusion of male and female gametes in order to produce the daughter plant and hence, the plants through asexual reproduction can propagate on their own using a part of their body such as stem, leaf, etc. The daughter plants produced in such a way are, therefore, genetically identical to the parent plant.
