Background and context

The detection of a taste is considered somewhat similar to the detection of an odor as both the smell and taste sense tend to rely on chemical receptors that get stimulated generally by certain molecules. The taste bus is defined as the primary taste organ. A taste bud is explained as a gustatory receptors' cluster that is specifically situated within the bumps that are present on the region of the tongue. They are known as papillae.
