Background and context
pH refers to the acidity or basicity of a solution. It indicates how acidic or basic a solution is. A pH of less than 7 is considered acidic and a pH of more than 7 is considered basic or alkaline. The pH of 7 is neutral. This is also the pH of blood and inside of cells in humans.
