Background and context

Neurons are specific cells that are of different types and have different shapes and sizes depending on their functions. Each neuron has a cell body that contains the nucleus, mitochondria and Golgi bodies, and other cellular components. It also contains dendrites, a tree-like structure used to receive signals from other neurons. At the end of the cell, body is present a tube-like structure called an axon that integrates signals.
