Background and context

Fossil fuels are the carbon containing fuels includes coal, petroleum, oil shales, natural gas, heavy oils, etc are widely used as a source of energy. They are severely damaging our environment due to the heat released on burning the fossil fuels. This burning also emits some harmful air pollutants like carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide which are very hazardous for the environment and causes health related issues.
