Background and context
Carbon fixation is one of the steps of photosynthesis. In this process, the inorganic compound like carbon dioxide (CO2) get fixed into the organic compounds. In plants, the fixation of the carbon occurs through the Calvin cycle which is a light-independent reaction and occurs in the stroma.
