Background and context
Glycolysis is the first process of cellular respiration in which glucose is converted to pyruvate using an enzyme cascade that helps with product formation. There are different steps in the process of generation of pyruvate. All the carbohydrates or sugars need to be converted to a specific residue so that they can enter the glycolytic pathway.
