Chemiosmosis is the process in which ions move through the semipermeable membrane depending on the nature of the electrochemical gradient. The electrochemical gradient is the region of higher concentration to the region of lower concentration. Towards the gradient, the ion moves from one side of the membrane to the other with its permeable nature.
