Background and context

The vertical section of soil appeared as different layers that have been superposed one above the other i.e., from the surface of the soil to the parent rock in a downwards direction, known as the soil profile. Soil horizons are parallelly running soil layers that have distinct structures and properties that are different from the adjacent layers.
