Background and context

The symbionts are the plants that make special adaptations to meet their nutritional requirements and survival. For example, the symbiont plants make an adaptive symbiotic relationship with the mycorrhizae fungi for nodule formation which helps them to obtain water and minerals from the soil. Similarly, fungi make a symbiotic association with cyanobacteria and green algae. These symbionts are unable to survive without each other.
