Background and context

The plants obtain their food mainly by the process of photosynthesis. The other methods are also involved to obtain food and other nutrients from the plants such as nitrogen fixation for atmospheric nitrogen, mycorrhization for phosphate, and micronutrients such as copper and zinc. The plants utilize organic and inorganic sources of nutrients directly or indirectly by different processes.
