Arguments against the monument: the argument against the monument construction is based on the feeling of violation of the first amendment. Arkansas and other opposed parties feel the monument is an unconstitutional endorsement of religion and a signal to people who are not a part of the religion or even any religion. Aclu and satanic temple plan on filing lawsuits to have the statue taken down. In my opinion, the controversy was impacted by both parties. Both parties had extremely compelling arguments against the artifact. The fact that it took over two years, an actual law being put into place, and 100% private funding speaks volumes about the impact of each party"s argument.
