Document Summary

Deep unwavering desire, we are committed to the idea that one"s own life is serious. Absurdity is inescapable bc we act a certain way and think a certain way (value more things than others) Metacognitive ability to think about what we are thinking. Absurdity is that we had no choice , as big bang singularity caused all of this. We still doubt values of objectively good ends. Our lives are absurd bc we want them to be important but we can"t. One"s life isn"t serious but we can"t help but take it seriously. Natural to think other things matter, things are real - to change this would take a lot of effort which is absurd. Doesn"t matter that life is absurd, brings humour to life, ironic empathy.
