Geocentric model (ptolemaic system) earth is at the orbital center of all celestial bodies. Copernican heliocentric sun centered sun is at the center of all celestial bodies. Both are incorrect no center of the universe. Earth orbits sun in elliptical orbit: shortest distance perihelion, longest distance aphelion. Earth takes 23 hours and 56 minutes to rotate on its axis with respect to starts: not 24 because of the distance covered in it"s orbit around the sun. Apparent position of the sun depends on latitude on earth: subsolar point - if at equator sun is 90o to the earth. Equinox equal day and night: fall and spring.
