Several ways that stability can be studied. Three levels of analysis: population level. Changes or constancies that apply more or less to everyone. Impulsiveness decreases with age: group differences level. Male teenagers more of risk takers than females (gender stereotypes) White women more prone to eating disorders. Emerges primarily around puberty: individual difference level. Who you can predict who is at risk for psychological disturbance later in life based on the earlier measures of their personality. How do we come to have the personalities that we do. Personalities could be influenced by parenting styles and family. E. g: parents that read to their children, parents that are violent and aggressive in punishments have children who are also aggressive. Flaws: doesn"t necessary generalized to all individuals.
