Somatoform and dissociative disorders are related but differ in perception (the way that you see yourself). Changes in the way you see yourself, others and society. Gender identity has been removed in the 2000"s: 1970: homosexuality, it is not a problem of how you identity your gender is it doesn"t match your genitals not a disorder anymore. You perceive a physical aliment when there isn"t any evidence for an organic cause. Somatoform disorder different from psychosomatic disorders: psychosomatic you thinking yourself ill. These are actually physical ailments that are caused by psychological thought: largely due to psychological factors. Symptoms are often (but not always) described in dramatic ways. Other disorders, such as anxiety, mood disorders, and personality disorders, often co-exist. In the past it was called hysteria wandering uterus. Must include: four different pains, two gastrointestinal symptoms, one sexual symptom, one pseudoneurological symptom. Dysfunctional: cannot go to school today, i"m ill but the doctor cannot find any reason.
