An engineer learns something about a project or company that will be a danger for the welfare of the public. Meaningful communications to your client mean loyalty and fairness to them. If your employer or client decided to go through the ethical steps on their own you have fulfilled your obligation including confidentiality. If not, you have the obligation to report it to the peo. The only thing you will add (if there is illegal activity) is to inform authority (cops): after talking about the code of ethics, apply 72. 2. b. c. d. Completely: allows the client to make a informed decision. You"re doing work for someone other than your employer on your free time. Code of ethics has a specific prevision 77. 5. The engineer should make sure that additional work doesn"t conflict/affect with main employer. Provide potential client in writing disclosing the full time work status and any resulting limitations on work you can provide.
