Literature suggests that authoritarians are biased towards prosecution"s case. Jury verdicts and scales: they believe in the importance of leadership and governing bodies of the country, so they tend to be biased toward believing the prosecution. Better memory recall of prosecution case than defense case evidence. More punitive toward low-status defendants (people with lower incomes, etc. If conviction decided upon, tend to recommend longer sentences they are more worthy of punishment) A scale that measures attitude toward the justice system. A suspect who runs from the police most probably committed the crime. If a majority of the evidence but not all of it suggests the defendant committed the crime, then the jury should vote not guilty. : strong presumption of reasonable doubt. Circumstantial evidence is too weak to use in court. This scale not an unreasonable way of predicting the way jurors will vote: studies below show actually pretty high correlations.
