Module 1 introduction to health and wellness. Who the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity . Health by definition, is good; the lack of it is bad. An approach to health that focuses on balancing the many aspects, or dimensions, of a person"s life through conditions and behaviours rather than attempting to minimize conditions of illness. Proactive and not reactive, put people in best position as possible to be healthy before they become ill. Is a dynamic state or condition that is multidimensional (i. e. , physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, and occupational), a resource for living, and results from a person"s interactions with and adaptations to his or her environment. The word health" originally meant wholeness": physical, emotional, social, mental, spiritual health". Physical health: absence of disease and disability; functioning adequately from the perspective of physical and physiological abilities; the biological integrity of the individual.
